Adult Services
|
The overall aim of Adult Services is to help the people of
Kent to live safely and independently in their local
communities.
The service, run by Managing Director
Oliver Mills, helps around 19,000 older people to live at home
and supports 5,000 older people in residential and nursing
care.
The directorate provides care packages to 36,000 adult clients
in any one year, including older people and adults with a physical
disability, learning disability, sensory impairment or mental
health need.
The core objectives of Adult Services are to support people with
particular needs to:
- live as independently and fully as possible
- access advice, information and services easily
- manage their own care and support with help where needed
- feel part of their local community.
This is achieved by:
- putting the people who use our services and their carers
first
- ensuring the availability of high quality services
- valuing, developing and supporting staff
- working in partnership
- making the best use of our resources
- creating the conditions, with others, for equality of
opportunity.
