Our performance is measured using both national,
government-set performance indicators and local, council-set
targets.
The national performance indicators enable our performance to be
compared with the performance of other county councils.
Our local targets reflect our determination to improve all of
our services so that we can continue to provide excellent services
to people living, working and visiting Kent.
In 2008 we were awarded the top rating of four stars in the
government's Comprehensive Performance Assessments for the fifth
year running.
Find out about our performance, both past and present, using the
links below.
Annual Plan
Our Annual Plan details our performance against both national and
local targets in 2007-08 and our priorities and targets for
improvements in 2008-09.
Comprehensive Performance Assessment
Every aspect of our performance has been independently inspected
and measured by the Audit Commission - through a Comprehensive
Performance Assessment (CPA). See how we compared to other local
authorities.
Read a copy of the
'
Annual Audit and Inspection Letter' issued by the Audit
Commission. It provides an overall summary of the Audit
Commission's assessment of the authority, drawing on audit,
inspection and performance assessment work. The report summarises
findings and conclusions from the statutory audit, which have
previously been reported by our appointed auditors.
The 'Annual Audit and Inspection Letter' provides an overall
summary of the Audit Commission's assessment of the council using
performance indicators covering the financial year 2006/07 and the
Direction of Travel which includes service improvements up to March
2008.
It does not take into account any findings from the recent
Corporate Assessment (which has been published separately from and
subsequently to the 'Annual Audit and Inspection Letter'). It does,
however, draw on the other elements of the most recent
Comprehensive Performance Assessment (CPA), the findings and
conclusions from the audit of the council for 2006/07 and from any
inspections undertaken since the last Annual Audit and Inspection
Letter in March 2007. |
