Right to Challenge

Right to Challenge

The Right to Challenge is a national process being introduced through the government's Localism Act. It came into force on 27 June 2012.

The Right to Challenge makes it easier for voluntary and community groups or council employees to bid to run council services. Find out more about what rights it gives you. There are also things you might need to consider if you are interested in using the Right to Challenge.

The right to challenge is just one way you can tell us about any ideas you may have about running  our services. You can still contact the service directly, speak to your local council member, email us on righttochallenge@kent.gov.uk or call 0300 333 5540.

How does the Right to Challenge process work?

Select the boxes below or use the menu on the left for more information on each stage of the process.

1. KCC opens services for expressions of interest 2. Relevant bodies submit expressions of interest 3. Expressions of interest either accepted or rejected by KCC 4. KCC opens procurement process if expressions of interest accepted
