The Welfare Advice Service

The Welfare Advice Service is a partnership of Kent County Council and the district councils in Kent which gives advice to customers about benefits that they may be entitled to.

Benefits advice

There are a variety of different benefits and financial support available and it can be difficult to find out what help you are entitled to. The following links can help you find out what benefits you can claim:

• DirectGov benefits advisor can help advise you of the benefits that you are entitled to
• JobCentre Plus has guidance on working age benefits that are available
• The Welfare Advice Service have arranged some drop in surgeries providing welfare benefit advice. The surgeries will provide a full benefit check for everyone who attends.
• Tax Help for Older People provides a free tax advice service for older people who are living on a household income of less than £17,000 per year.
