Redundancy

If you are concerned about being made redundant you should speak to your employer and your union as soon as possible.

Employers should follow certain steps and make the process as fair as possible if making redundancies.

If you are made redundant

If you are made redundant you should register with Jobcentre Plus as soon as possible to make sure that you receive all available help. Register and book an appointment with a Jobcentre Plus advisor by calling 0800 055 6688 or visit your local Jobcentre Plus office.

More information about being made redundant is available on the DirectGov website.

The Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service offers free, confidential and impartial advice on all employment rights issues. Call the Acas helpline on 08457 47 47 47 from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday.
