school. Guidance on the cost of further education and the options
that are available for you are offered by several
organisations.
- Find out if you can get £30 a week Education Maintenance Allowance to
help you carry on in learning after you've left school.
- Uniaid
aims to help young people cope with the financial difficulties
of going to university. It includes a 'student calculator' and
information on accommodation bursaries for young people in hardship
who otherwise would not be able to continue into higher
education.
- The National
Union of Students provides information on student
finances including student loans and sources of financial
support.
- UCAS provides
simple online budget advice and online calculator as well as
information about the cost of studying, working and studying at the
same time and information for care leavers.
- The Student Loans Company is
responsible for providing financial services, in terms of loans and
grants, to students across the UK. They also administer the
collection of repayments.
