Service provider information
If you
are having problems living independently in your home, then visit
the Supporting People housing-related
support pages created for householders and service users for
further information and help.
This area of our website is aimed at organisations which are, or
are interested in, holding a contract with the Kent Supporting
People Programme. It also has information which people interested
in housing-related support for vulnerable people may find
helpful.
The Supporting People programme is a national Government
initiative that started on 1st April 2003.
Supporting People helps people do things like learn to cook,
look after their money, get the right benefits from the Government
or learn new things. When people can live in their own home, it
makes it easier for them to do other things in their life like get
and keep a job or go out and spend time with friends.
The programme aims to prevent the problems that can cause people
to become homeless, build up debts and rent arrears, need hospital
treatment or move into care. Above all it helps people move back to
living independently. The money comes from the Supporting People
grant provided by the Government.
