Fostering case study: Amy
Amy is an engaging 9 year old girl, who loves to play
imaginatively. Amy has a severe learning difficulty and her needs
are well met in a specialist school in Dover. As a social happy
girl, Amy is developing into an insightful person who responds well
to other people. Amy’s social worker describes her as a:
“sparky intelligent child, with real ability
to captivate people using her humour and personality”.
Amy can be challenging, polite, responsive to firm boundaries,
energetic and focussed.
We need foster carers who can be part
of Amy’s life into the foreseeable future. You will work in
partnership with Amy’s mother regularly providing extra support for
2 or 3 weekdays or over the weekend. It is planned that this
flexible arrangement of shared care will provide the enduring
relationship between Amy and her mother. Ideally Amy will be the
youngest child in the home without family pets.
