Catch22 has a contract with
KCC and provides services for young people leaving care. Catch22
is a national charity with a significant background in the
development and management of leaving care services. This 16plus
service has 4 bases around Kent, working
across the 3 social services areas. It is primarily
responsible for undertaking the local authorities statutory
responsibilities to support looked after children aged 16 years and
care leavers.
Cathc 22 provide advice, support and practical assistance. This
includes obtaining and sustaining: accommodation, education,
training and employment opportunities.
What happens when a child leaves care?
When children leave care, they and their families will be
offered support by social workers and other professionals. If
children are in care at the age of 16, they will be introduced to
the Catch22. This16plus service
will offer advice, practical assistance and emotional support to
help them become more independent and work towards achieving their
potential.
