Commercial & Environmental Group

The Commercial and Environmental Group is part of Legal Services and comprises three teams:

• Planning and Highways
• Contracts and Procurement
• Property

The work of the group encompasses all legal matters related to property and contracts. These include:

• sales, purchases, leases, mortgages and the grant or acquisition of rights and interests in land
• general commercial work
• agreements for the development of land and for the construction and funding of new highways
• highways matters
• planning inquiries and breaches of planning law, advice and support on PFI
• planning agreements
• building and engineering contracts
• tenders and contracts for the provision of goods and services
• compulsory purchase orders
• miscellaneous property transactions and general non-contentious advice
