Competitiveness and Innovation framework Programme
(CIP)
The Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP)
aims to encourage the competitiveness of European enterprises,
paying particular attention to small and medium-sized enterprises.
With a budget of approcimately €3.6 billion between 2007 and 2013
the programme will support the following activities under its three
specific programmes:
Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme
(EIP): This programme provides access to finance for SMEs,
promotes innovation including eco-innovation and finances the
"Enterprise Europe Network" of business support centres of which
Business Support Kent CIC is a member.
ICT Policy Support Programme: This programme
aims to strengthen the European internal market for ICT and
ICT-based products and services by fostering innovation and
competitiveness through the wider uptake and best use of ICT by
citizens and government.
Intelligent Energy Europe Programme: This
programme promotes energy efficiency and new and renewable energy
sources in all sectors including transport. It supports pilot,
promotion and dissemination projects with objectives such as
capacity building, spreading of know-how, skills and methods,
development of market and intelligence. education and training.
