Belgium

Kent and West Flanders are both eligible to participate in the new Interreg IVA Cross-Border co-operation ('2 Seas' Programme) and the two Interreg IVB Transnational Co-operation Programmes (North West Europe and North Sea Region) 2007-13. These therefore provide a particular opportunity for partners from the two regions to develop joint projects in areas of common interest.

Since early 2006 a number of meetings have taken place in Maidstone and Bruges to bring together potential partners to develop mutually beneficial projects, including in the fields of tourism, culture, economic development, environment and e-government.
