Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP)
What is the Local Enterprise Partnership?

The East Sussex, Essex, Kent, Medway, Thurrock and Southend
LEP exists to help businesses grow and will focus its efforts
on areas of cross-border economic importance where there is added
value in working together.
It is the largest strategic LEP in England and has a combined
population of 3.9 million people, which is larger than any UK city
region outside of London.
What are the main priorties?
- To unlock the potential of the Thames Gateway
- to unlock the potential of coastal East Sussex, Greater Essex
and Kent and Medway
- to unlock the potential of rural East Sussex, Greater Essex and
Kent and Medway
- to unlock the potential of our key towns and cities.
As part of these priorities, attention will be given to skills,
housing, tourism and infrastructure across the LEP area.
How will it do this?
By bringing together leaders from business, local government and
further and higher education the LEP aims to achieve its
priorities.
