Biography

Sally was educated at Royal Holloway, University of London, where she obtained a 2:1 in German with French.

Sally obtained her Post-graduate diploma in Law at BPP Law School before completing the Legal Practice Course at College of Law, during which she was awarded a prize for obtaining the highest examination mark in the Family Law elective (94%).

Sally trained as a solicitor in private practice, during which she obtained extensive experience in all aspects of family law to include divorce proceedings, private law children's disputes, injunction proceedings under the Family Law Act 1996 and ancillary relief proceedings.

During her 9 years in private practice, Sally also acted for parents in care proceedings, which has given her invaluable insight and has enabled her to experience child protection work from more than one perspective.

Sally joined the Local Authority in February 2012 and since then has specialised in advising Children's Social Services on child protection issues. As well as having her own caseload, Sally undertakes extensive advocacy in both the Magistrates and County Courts on both her own and other solicitors' matters.

Sally regularly represents the Local Authority at contested hearings, to include multi-day final hearings.

Recently, Sally has become involved with providing training to foster carers in order to assist them in understanding the Court process and what would be required of them should they be required to provide evidence in care proceedings.
