Biography

Jo studied Law at Leicester University, thereafter completing the Bar Vocational Course at The Inns of Court School of Law, gaining a Post graduate Diploma in Professional Legal Skills. Jo was called to the Bar in October 1998 and joined Field Court Chambers in London on the successful completion of her pupillage. In 2010 Jo moved her practice to Kent, joining Maidstone Chambers, where she helped to build a progressive Family Team. In July 2014, Jo joined Kent County Council as a locum in house advocate.

Jo's previous practice covered all aspects of Family Law, with particular emphasis on children, both within the public and private law sector. Jo has extensive experience in complex public law cases and she regularly advises and conducts advocacy in cases involving complex medical evidence, confidentiality and disclosure issues, immigration and sexual abuse.

Jo appears in all court forums from the Family Proceedings Court to the Court of Appeal.
