Gurpreet studied at Queen Mary, University of London and completed his legal training at The Inns of Court School of Law. Following a period at a big four accounting firm as a tax consultant, Gurpreet began practice as a barrister in 2009.
At Kent Legal Services, Gurpreet practises in all areas of commercial and real property litigation. He has particular expertise in procurement, construction and property related litigation. He also has a growing practice in administrative and local authority law (vires and constitutional advice).
Since joining KCC, Gurpreet has worked with local councils, fire authorities, police authorities and education bodies all over the country. He is committed to providing meaningful, no-nonsense tactical support and advice to resolve disputes efficiently where they cannot be otherwise advantageously avoided.
Gurpreet has an enviable track record of successfully acting in some of the most complicated and high value disputes faced by the Council and his clients. He has a loyal following of clients that rely on his knowledge and understanding of the law to successfully extricate themselves from liabilities and to support them through regulatory investigations. Gurpreet is regularly instructed (often as part of team) by senior public authority officers to advise on high risk, high value litigation.
Gurpreet has recently been involved in advising on and conducting several high value and complex commercial and procurement cases concerning Local Councils. Recently, he has been instructed to act for the Council in a £9 million environment negligence claim, an £8 million procurement dispute and a £2 million fraud claim. He has also been involved in high value construction and technology disputes involving several parties and multiple claims.
