Tricia joined Kent County Council Legal Services in 1987. Since joining KCC, Tricia has worked alongside senior colleagues providing support on complex matters as well conducting her own cases.

Tricia has conduct of cases that encompass every aspect of legal challenge presented by unaccompanied asylum seeking children. This includes challenges to age assessment decisions by the local authority and the provision of community care. She enjoys a close working relationship with senior management.

Tricia has developed an in-depth knowledge of statuary duties in relation to social care for asylum seeking children and young people. She has extensive experience of defending pre-action and judicial review applications before the Administrative Court. 

Tricia has devised and delivered bespoke legal training to clients on age assessment techniques and regularly provides updates on the effects to this process by current changes in case law. 

Tricia has worked closely with Virtual Schools Kent, providing advice on Kent's Criminal Injuries Compensation Award Procedures. Tricia advises on Appeals against CICA decisions to the First Tier Tribunal (FTT) and has a 100% success rate in achieving either an award from the FTT or an uplift in the level of award. Additionally, Tricia has undertaken work for external clients in relation to CICA applications and provided advice to other authorities on working procedures.
