Ruth joined Kent Legal Services in September 2000 with extensive local authority legal knowledge gained from her previous legal work in three London authorities. Her current duties include undertaking the preparation of probation breach work in the Magistrates and Crown courts and advising on all aspects of these proceedings.

In addition, Ruth undertakes a range of debt work for Kent County Council from receipt of instructions to any subsequent judgement and enforcement that is required by the client. Ruth also visits Kent schools and advises on the disclosure of student's school records following police requests relating to ongoing criminal investigations. She has a case load of adult social services matters including the recovery from estates of high end care home fees and applications for the appointment/displacement of nearest relative.

Ruth also works with colleagues across both social services and the litigation teams on a range of other work including employment tribunal cases and DOLS matters.
