Background

First produced in 1996 as a 10 year strategy, Kent Prospects was updated in 2002 to take it forward to 2006, and reviewed in 2007 to roll it forward to 2012.

The review has evolved within the context set by the Kent Partnership's sustainable community strategy - the Vision for Kent and the linked Kent Agreement. This sets the direction of travel for key players who are working to improve Kent's economic, social and environmental well being.

Kent Prospects provides a further level of detail to support the Vision's 'Economic Success for All' aspiration which seeks 'a Kent where a vibrant and successful economy and targeted regeneration are delivered and sustained by innovative and creative businesses, self reliant and skilled people, and supportive and responsive organisations in private, public and community sectors'.
