Ian Clark is the principal solicitor for the Litigation and
Social Welfare Group which comprises the Social Services teams and
Litigation, Employment & Education team. Ian qualified as a
solicitor in 1972 and spent eleven years in private practice. He
has specialised in Social Services law since joining Westminster
City Council in 1983. He has been with KCC since 1989. He deals
with all aspects of Social Services law, and has particular
responsibility for mental health and community care matters in the
west of the county. He contributed two chapters to "Child Care Law
for Social Workers" (Longman, 1994) and sat for several years as a
Deputy District Judge, and now sits as Assistant Deputy Coroner for
Mid-Kent and Medway.
