Toxicology services

Drug and alcohol analysis

Our toxicology team carry out forensic toxicology for Her Majesty’s Coroners. This is required in cases of sudden or unexplained death which may involve toxic substances such as alcohol, prescribed drugs, illegal drugs, carbon monoxide, cyanide or solvents. Our findings aid the Coroner to arrive at verdict on the nature of the death.

We also offer these analytical services to health and safety officers, occupational health professionals and similar professions. Please contact us for further details.

Please note this is not intended to be a service for monitoring therapeutic levels of drugs for patients undergoing treatment.

Under the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988, motorists who are required to give a blood or urine sample will also receive part of this sample for their own analysis. Kent Scientific Services is UKAS accredited for this analysis.

Our highly qualified and experienced analysts are trained to appear in court as expert witness.

If you require this service a fee is payable is advance. Please contact us in advance for details. Payment must be by cheque or in cash. We are unable to accept credit or debit cards.
