Information governance

Introduction

Data Protection and Freedom of Information represent key elements of a broader information governance framework, and ALL staff should understand their responsibilities towards personal and business sensitive information under this, and other legislation.

Objectives

This workshop aims to provide an understanding of:

The broader Information Governance framework

The key provisions of the Data Protection Act, the Freedom of Information Act, and the Environmental Information Regulations

Procedures for handling requests for access to information held by KCC (under FOI, DPA and EIR)

Basic principles for information security and records management good practice
