Registration of births, deaths and stillbirths advanced
Introduction
To reinforce knowledge already held in the registration of
births, deaths and stillbirths.
Course attendance: all staff registering births, deaths and
stillbirths
Objectives
- Recognise the appropriate use of statutory declaration and who
can attest them
- Understand when local authority of statutory declarations is
acceptable and when they should be referred to General Register
Office (GRO)
- Identify when local authorisation for re-registration under
GRO185 and LA1 is acceptable
- Confirm details required for re-registration
- Reinforce knowledge of name changes
- Verify when deaths should be referred to the Coroner and the
procedure to follow
- Substantiate procedure for registrations using part A’s and
B’s
- Confirm processes for Registration Online System (RON)
