Media training for members
Introduction
This course gives you an overview of the written press,
broadcast media, agencies and new media. Using specific examples,
we will illustrate the ways in which the media can work for and
against you; their objectives versus your objectives.
Objectives
Using the interview as a starting point, we will lay out the
essential tool kit for tackling media interviews. From appearance
to gesture, from voice to words; how to ensure it is your message
which receives the attention you believe it deserves. We will use
specific examples and illustrations of good and bad interview
technique to help build up a picture of what to look for out in an
interview.
Course Content
- Discussion of techniques for managing hard
lines of questioning., maintaining control and ensuring your
message comes through.
- Considering the various demands presented
by live, pre-recorded, remote interviews.
- Full hard news interview on camera –
emphasis on maintaining control and direction of
answers.
