Level 5 diploma - Management and leadership

Introduction

Register with our CMI Approved Qualification Centre to study for a qualification that is recognised throughout the UK and Europe.

For middle managers and those aspiring to senior management who wish to develop their core management and leadership skills and practices.

Candidates will have a minimum of three years working in a management position or similar experience at this level, and achievement of the Level 3 Diploma - First Line Management or equivalent.

Objectives

This qualification is designed for practising managers, to support the development of their leadership and management skills.

Candidates will widen their knowledge in management and leadership theory and practice, and update their management skills to meet best practice and national standards.

Course content

This programme covers the following topics:

  • Personal development as a manager and leader
  • Information based decision making
  • Performance management
  • Resource management
  • Meeting stakeholder and quality needs
  • Human resource development
  • Managing recruitment and selection
  • Project development and control
  • Conducting a management project

This programme consists of workshops, study groups, open learning, research and project management.

Candidates will be required to identify and project manage a work-based operational project while studying for this qualification, and complete a total of nine written assignments.

Duration: One year
Cost: £2000 (split over 2 financial years £1300 yr 1 & £700 yr 2)
