Introduction
Holding meetings is an increasingly expensive
activity, hence the need to run meetings well. The aim and test of
a well run meeting is that whatever the subject, people feel
afterwards that it took care of their needs, as well as the items
on the agenda.
Objectives
- The role of the meeting facilitator.
- Preparing effectively for a meeting.
- Using a range of skills and techniques, including listening,
summarising skills and facilitation.
- Keeping the meeting on track/topic.
- Developing a range of techniques for dealing with different
meeting participants.
- Learning points, outcomes and action plans.
Course Content
All too often time and effort is wasted by calling and attending
meetings which are not well prepared, have no clear purpose and
where attendees fail to participate in making decisions. This
course aims to assist in dealing with those aspects that inhibit
the effectiveness of meetings and emphasise the best practices that
make meetings successful.
