Leading across boundaries - a leadership in place workshop
Introduction
The leadership in place training workshop seeks to overcome the
fragmentation of service delivery. It focuses on integrating
resources to support comprehensive community change. This new
public service delivery approach is based on place based
leadership, shared services and strategic and operational
commissioning. It requires a new set of leadership rules and
capabilities that transcend own organisation leadership thinking.
The leadership in place workshop is about how to approach delivery
of services by engaging with the community and multiple
stakeholders.
Objectives
- To understand level complex adaptive system and new practices
of political, managerial and civic leadership across the whole
public service system
- To examine the need for new patterns of ‘adaptive leadership’
to tackle tough, complex, cross-cutting problems in the
community
- Gain awareness of whole systems thinking, and understand the
interconnections, inter-dependencies and inter-actions between
complex issues, across multiple boundaries
Course content
This short course is fast and interactive examining key theories
and principles and applying back into the workplace. It encourages
further reflection and encourages the delegate to become an
emergent leader whereby their leadership skills are honed by trial
and success..
