IOD Certificate in company direction - the professional qualification for directors

Introduction

The Institute of Directors (IOD) in collaboration with Kent Learning and Development are delivering a Kent based IOD Diploma and certificate in company direction - the professional qualification for directors. This exciting new executive training and development initiative with the IOD is aimed at increasing director capacity in Kent, developing strong executive and corporate governance that will reassure your investors and stakeholders that their business is being run by professionals.

Objectives

IOD Diploma and certificate qualifications will:

Clearly define your executive role and responsibilities
Deliver executive education improving your knowledge and skills, positively impacting your personal and corporate performance
Receive executive learning through highly participative sessions using case studies, group work and tutor input
Provide opportunities to benchmark your director level knowledge and skills against clearly established standards of good practice

The IOD Diploma and certificate courses are short and focused, to cause minimal disruption to busy schedules. The IOD E-learning platform and support is available right up to the exams with ongoing access after the exams.

Course content

Role of the company director (2 days): An in-depth look at the key duties, roles and legal responsibilities of directors, corporate governance and the role of the board
Finance for non-financial directors (3 days): This course will demystify the world of finance
Director’s role in strategy and marketing (3 day): An opportunity to look at how marketing supports strategy within a business
Director’s role in leading the organisation (2 day): Will show how the board should lead an organisation, create a culture committed to change and describe the strategic issues, opportunities and pressures for change which exist
