Operational management of flexible teams

Introduction

More and more staff are now able to work ‘flexibly’ – either at home, in touchdown rooms, hot-desking at various locations, etc. Managers/Team Leaders need the expertise to manage flexible teams to ensure outputs and targets are being achieved, as well as being familiar with other issues around this topic (e.g. leave requests, sickness). This course aims to address these issues.

  • Flexible working issues - issues for individual performance and work-life balance
  • Flexible working - adapting and changing to new work patterns
  • Managing flexible working - ensuring performance – setting SMART objectives
  • Work and home roles - life demands, pressure points, understanding time poverty
  • Managing flexible working - maintaining communication - case studies
  • Managing flexible working - equality and gender issues

Objectives

  • Understand types of flexible working arrangements and how to apply them.
  • Know the legal, equality and gender issues linked to flexible working.
  • Manage issues around health and safety for home workers.
  • Be able to deal with team requests related to flexible working.
