Word intermediate training

Introduction

This training course is designed for existing users of Word who wish to progress their knowledge, or discover more effective and efficient ways or working with the application. The training course is hands-on and tutor led.

The delegate will gain a wide experience in setting up and using Word documents to their best advantage. The use of graded training exercises enables the delegate to become both familiar and confident with all the basic word processing tools. 

Objectives

  • Recap of the basics, including: cut/copy/paste, line spacing, navigation, text selection, print preview, page setup, using indents and tabs, basic formatting
  • Apply and use headers and footers
  • Using the browser
  • Styles
  • Find and replace
  • Document map
  • Using different views
  • Apply and use numbering
  • Create tables
  • Headers and footers
  • Use AutoCorrect
  • Create and use AutoText

Course content

The training course will include:

  • Use of the Browse button to navigate through a document
  • How to use different document views and how to edit files in print preview
  • Basic numbering techniques will be recapped as well as the creation and use of outline numbering
  • How to create and use basic tables and select and insert rows and columns using auto formats
  • Use of the AutoCorrect facility
  • Entering and editing AutoCorrect entries
  • Use of AutoText entries
  • Smart ways of managing file storage using the My Places shortcut panel
