ECDL essentials (Level 1) - IT training
Introduction
This first level qualification in IT is ideal for Managers/Team
Leaders and those who need to use computers more and more in
everyday work. The training course is modular – each module has a
formal test.
The modules:
IT user fundamentals
Understanding and using the Windows environment efficiently.
Learning how to manage files in an electronic environment.
Using email and the Internet
Learn how to use Outlook effectively to send, receive, reply,
forward mail. Understand the importance of housekeeping, saving
attachments, etc. Learn how to search and use the Internet
effectively..
Security for IT users
This module includes topics around computer security for both
the individual and the organisation. The importance of passwords,
backups, environmental concerns is contained in this module.
Duration and training workshops
Over a period of 4-6 months, delegates attend two one-day and
one half-day training workshops. Each training workshop culminates
in the candidate taking a formal test. Attendance is compulsory at
all training workshops..

- To achieve the ECDL qualification accredited by the British
Computer Society
