ECDL advanced Word processing
Introduction
ECDL Advanced Word Processing training will prove that an
individual's competence with computer use is well above the basic
skill level, and will help determine suitability for jobs involving
computer use at a higher level.
This training course is for the individual who uses a word
processing application to prepare reports, news letters and forms,
and who wishes to prove that their level of skill is beyond that of
a basic user. It is an external qualification accredited by the
British Computer Society. The training course is largely self study
and has a one day practical training workshop included. Training
course materials are provided which will guide the delegate through
the topics required to pass the examination. The examination is one
hour in duration.
Objectives
- Use section breaks, and multiple formats within a document
- Create macros and use auto text functions
- Use forms with drop-down fields and check boxes
- Apply and use advanced editing techniques
- Apply and use advanced layout techniques
- Use advanced document organisation
- Use advanced document elements
- Use special tools
- Print using advanced features
Course content
The training course covers:
- How to create sections to allow different layouts to be used
within the same document
- The use of macros to automate the use of recurring items
- Creating forms
- Use of the auditing toolbar
- Use of columns, text boxes and watermarks
- Creating and using Master documents
- Inserting and removing subdocum ents
- Creating and using columns, styles, outlines, applying
footnotes, endnotes, captions, table of contents, indexes, etc
Duration: Up to 3 months
Cost: £175 per delegate for individual module,
£600 for all 4 Advanced
modules, £725
for a full level 3 qualification
