ECDL advanced spreadsheets
Introduction
Spreadsheets have become vital tools that are used by many. Some
people use the basic functions of spreadsheets, others use it as a
tool to manipulate and analyse data. ECDL Advanced Spreadsheets is
designed to set those users apart from those working at a basic
level. To gain this qualification the user will be able to use and
apply complex functions and formulae where appropriate.
ECDL Advanced Spreadsheets is for the individual who manipulates
and analyses data and subsequently prepares reports. It is aimed at
the person who wishes to prove that their knowledge is beyond that
of a basic user and is an external qualification accredited by the
British Computer Society. The training course is largely self study
and has a one day practical training workshop included. Training
course materials are provided which will guide the delegate through
the topics required to pass the examination. The examination is one
hour in duration
Objectives
- Use subtotals, filters and advanced filtering.
- Create and use charts.
- Link multiple worksheets
- Create and use pivot tables
- Apply advanced editing techniques
- Use advanced data handling techniques
- Create and use appropriate functions
- Use auditing features
- Use one and two input data tables
- Create and use Macros/use custom presentations
Course content
The training will cover:
- advanced features to allow analysis of data into discrete
groups to prepare reports and provide management information
- creation of picture charts, combination charts
- editing and amending axes and titles
- use of consolidation of data across different sheets
- using the inbuilt 3D functionality
- use of pivot tables as means of cross-tabulating information to
make sense of what seems like a disparate set of data.
Duration: up to 3 months
Cost: £175 per delegate for individual module,
£600 for all 4 Advanced
modules, £725
for a full level 3 qualification
