ECDL extra (Level 2) - IT training
Introduction
ECDL is the fastest growing, internationally recognised,
competence based computer qualification. KCC‘s Learning and
Development, as a registered Test Centre, is pleased to be able to
offer the opportunity for staff to gain this qualification. The
training course is modular - consisting of five modules, all of
which are competence based. Each module has a formal test of 45
minutes duration. There is also a one-hour assessment.
The modules:
IT user fundamentals
Understanding and using the Windows environment efficiently.
Learning how to manage files in an electronic environment.
Word processing
Creating and formatting documents ready for distribution.
Styles, tabs, paragraph formatting, Mail merge and tables are also
included in this module.
Spreadsheets
Developing and formatting a spreadsheet, calculations and
functions, working with worksheets, creating graphs and charts.
Presentation
Creating a slide show with templates, transitions and
builds.
Assessment module - improving productivity using
IT
A one hour formal assessment using all the techniques gained
from the ECDL modules to show a deeper knowledge and understanding
of IT applications.
Workshops
Four full day training workshops—attendance is compulsory. A
formal test is taken at each training workshop.
Objectives
To achieve the ECDL qualification accredited by the British
Computer Society
Duration: Approximately 6 months.
