IOSH managing safely certificate
Introduction
Managing safely is for managers and supervisors with
responsibility for people or processes, but equally relevant to any
level of management and supervision which requires a basic broad
view of current health & safety requirements and
principles.
On successful completion of the course and the assessed work,
the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) will
issue a certificate.
Objectives
For managers and supervisors to understand what their Health and
Safety responsibilities are:
- How to measure and improve their Health and Safety
activity
- How and why injury and damage incidents occur
- What they can do to reduce risks in their environment
Course content
Memorable and thought provoking facts, figures and case studies
help drive the points home over the whole course. Each module is
backed by crystal clear examples and
recognisable scenarios, and summaries reinforce the key learning
points. The course
includes checklists and other materials for delegates to try out
and then use when they get back into the workplace.

Assessment
This assessed course will cover the application of recognised
management principles in health and safety and will equip Managers
to tackle the issues in their own workplace. The course is assessed
by a short written / objective multi- format paper and a workplace
based written assignment.
Duration: 4 days plus work-based written
