Working safely at heights
Introduction
The programme covers the use of extendable ladders, and the
practicalities and safety issues of working at heights. This course
is for staff who occasionally use portable or easily erected
equipment to reach heights of 10 metres or less.
Objectives
Staff will learn of the personal and technical hazards
associated with working at
heights and the appropriate procedures for operating equipment in a
safe and
effective manner. Please note this course is not for use of
scaffolding.
Course content
The course offers technical input, supporting workbook, group
discussion and practical activity at heights with ladders.

- Techniques for working safely at heights
- Equipment available for working at heights
- Special precautions to be taken when working at heights
