Inanimate load moving and handling
Introduction
Participants will learn how to avoid unnecessary manual
handling, to reduce the risk and to prevent injury through good
handling techniques by using a commonsense approach to everyday
activities.
Objectives
- To enable participants to adopt safe systems of work to ensure
they do not put themselves or others at risk. This course follows
the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 Guidelines.
Course content
- The manual handling of parcels, heavy and awkward objects
- Lifting/lowering/carrying/pushing/pulling
- Our responsibilities as employees
- Mechanical aids to manual handling assessing and reducing
risks
Duration: Half day
