Section 17 Crime and Disorder Act 1998

Introduction

All county council staff and Elected Members will benefit from this training. A leaflet and training DVD have been designed to help train staff and training seminars will be run for the Corporate Management Team and Elected Members.

Objectives

To ensure all county council staff and Elected Members are aware of their responsibilities and the important role they can play in helping prevent and reduce crime, anti-social behaviour etc. both whilst at work and generally.

Course content

By the end of this course delegates will:

  • understand Section 17 Crime and Disorder Act 1998 and to whom it applies
  • understand how the requirements of Section 17 affect them both at work and generally
  • be in possession of literature that they can use as a reference guide in their day-to-day role
