Restorative approaches
Introduction
This course is suitable for all those involved in community
led groups, primary and secondary schools and employers who deal
with behaviour that has been identified as a priority within the
community.
Objectives
The session aims to explore the principles of restorative
justice and restorative approaches and give attendees a clear
understanding of restorative approaches as a dynamic way of dealing
with conflict, promoting understanding and healing wrong doing.
Course content
By the end of this course delegates will:
- understand the process of restorative approaches
- understand how to use restorative approaches and restorative
interventions
- understand the benefits of restorative approaches as a form of
behavioural management
- understand the principles of a solution focused approach which
focuses on the needs of the harmed and encourages wrongdoers to
take responsibility for their actions.
