Home visits - Vulnerable adults

Introduction

This course is suitable for all those people who need to carry out home visits within their professional role.

Objectives

Consider issues that should be addressed before a home visit is made. Cover risk assessment, discuss and address equality and diversity to cover communication and related issues when dealing with vulnerable adults.

Course content

By the end of this course delegates will:

  • understand how to utilise different styles of communication
  • be able to carry out a risk assessment prior to and during a home visit
  • know how to prepare for a home visit
  • know how to respond to certain situations when dealing with vulnerable adults
  • understand how age and culture can impact upon communication
