Court procedures
Introduction
This course would benefit those that may be required to attend
court as a witness.
Objectives
To provide the opportunity for students to understand the
procedures and requirements when giving evidence in a court.
Course content
By the end of this course delegates will:
- have knowledge of court procedures and the rules of evidence
associated with them, as they apply to England and Wales
- have a basic understanding of how the various types of court
relate to each other, the roles of the various ‘players’ involved,
and how you are likely to come into contact with them
- feel more confident in the witness box
- know how to plan and prepare themselves to give evidence
- be able to deal effectively with cross-examination
