Accredited persons and designated powers

Intoduction

This is an accredited persons and designated powers training course run by the Community Safety Partnership (Kent County Council and Kent Police) and meets the criteria required for Community Safety Accreditation. It is available for those delegates that require legislative powers under the Police Reform Act 2002.

Objectives

To provide delegates with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to enable them to perform their duties in a professional and competent manner, before undertaking their role within the community.

Course content

By the end of the course the delegates will:

  • understand the powers that are available to them and their use
  • have the ability to identify and issue the correct notice for given offences
  • identify and effectively use the relevant power to a given situation
  • have the ability to identify how to correctly complete and submit penalty notices
  • be able to identify the circumstances in which the offences can be committed against them in connection with the execution of powers/duty
