Services for people who are blind or sight impaired
In Kent services and support for the blind or sight impaired are
provided through Kent Association for the Blind
(KAB).
KAB has teams in Maidstone, Canterbury,
Gravesend and Dover. They help blind and sight impaired
people to live independent lives by providing:
- Information and advice on sight impairment and eye
conditions
- Assessment of individual need and provision of equipment
- Training in all aspects of rehabilitation, mobility and
orientation, daily living and communication
- Welfare rights and benefits advice
- A dedicated service to people with learning disabilities
