Improving mental health in Kent (Live It Well strategy)
One in four of us will have a mental health
problem at some point in our lives.
Live It Well is the strategy that looks
to improve the mental health and wellbeing of people in Kent
and Medway from 2010 to 2015.
The strategy makes ten commitments,
including:
- ensuring people have easy access to care in a
crisis
- reducing the number of people with common
mental health problems such as anxiety and depression
- giving people more choice and more say over
their care and
- reducing the number of suicides.
Live It Well was developed with people who use services, carers,
frontline professionals and voluntary organisations and shaped by
the views and ideas of people from Kent and Medway who took the
opportunity to comment on it when the strategy was o
ut for consultation.
Here is a report on what people said about the
draft strategy and how it was changed as a result.
Five organisations worked together to put together the strategy:
NHS Medway, NHS Eastern and Coastal Kent, NHS West Kent, Kent
County Council and Medway Council.
