Employment services

An individual can experience mental health issues at any time in their life and one of the most difficult things to overcome, concerns employment. People with mental health needs can find it difficult to:

  • find a route into employment
  • retain employment
  • get to back to work after being ill or
  • find paid employment

Here in Kent we use our various contracts with vocational and employment services to support people to get into voluntary or paid employment, or maintain current employment.

Some benefits of doing voluntary work or paid employment include:

  • Learning and building new skills
  • Learning computer skills and achieving qualifications
  • Building self-esteem and confidence
  • Well being and mental health recovery
  • Being independent
  • Being part of the wider community
