Community Support Services (CSS) support people in leading an independent lifestyle and working towards mental health well being and recovery.

 

What will a Community Support Service Provider deliver?

By supporting service users working towards independent living and mental health recovery, the provider will deliver the following:

  • Support with correspondence
  • Budget management
  • Encouraging the service user to undertake any task/activity 
  • Support service users in arranging appointment themselves 
  • Where required support the service user in attending appointments
  • Provide a listening ear
  • Is made aware of services in the local community 
  • Support in attending local mental health day services, service user groups
  • Support in attending education centres to learn new skills
  • Given choice of life style

 

 

What a Community Service will not provide?

  • Personal care
  • Domiciliary services
  • Counselling
