Mental health - Carers services

If you are looking after someone who is experiencing mental health needs then there are people you can talk to, who can provide you with support.

We can provide support if you are caring for someone affected by long and enduring mental health needs.

Support available

We can provide a listening ear for those that need it and can provide ongoing emotional support. Further support can then be provided in a range of things including practical help, information and advocacy.

The focus is on you as an individual with the aim to determine what your specific needs are.

Training programmes and occasional workshops can also be accessed to assist you in your role and equip you with strategies to help you.

There are also support groups, so carers can get support in a confidential environment and talk to others who understand.

There are also a variety of social activities that some carer’s organisations provide.
