Finding you a suitable placement
When someone is referred to the service we start to look for a
carer on the scheme that we think would be a good match.
We make sure that those on the scheme are completely comfortable
with their prospective carer before they start to live
together.
We show photographs of prospective carers to those on the
scheme and if everyone agrees that they want to continue we arrange
introductory meetings so that both parties can get to know each
other better.
If those on the scheme agree to stay with their
carer overnight and it is deemed successful, we will ask
them if they want to try living with the carers to see how it goes.
We would then help them move into their new
home.
Getting to know each other
We ask all those on the scheme who have been placed in a
carers home to help us write a plan which will tell their
carers about themselves.
This helps carers know what their placements like and dislike as
well as telling them about the new things those in their
care would like to do and learn.
Regular meetings with scheme users and carers are
held to make sure that both parties are happy and to see if
there is anything we need to chan
ge.
