Kerry's success story
Kerry looked to start her career in social care by
signing up to take part in our apprenticeship scheme pilot.

- What do you do?
I am working with All Seasons Care Services as a
domiciliary care worker for the whole of my apprenticeship.
This involves going from house to house visiting people in the
community and providing the care that they need.
The care that they receive depends on their care package and
includes things such as personal care, preparing meals, housework
etc.
- What did you do before this?
I worked in a call centre before this in a sales team.
- Why did you become an apprentice?
I wanted to get into the care sector but couldn’t afford to go back
to college full time so doing an apprenticeship allowed me to work,
learn and earn at the same time.
- What is the most important thing that you have learnt
so far?
The most important thing I have learnt so far is that when dealing
with a service user, I need to think how I would feel if I was in
their shoes before passing judgement on them
