Excellent Homes for All
Kent County Council and five District and Borough Council
Partners have received initial approval for Private Finance
Initiative (PFI) credits from the Department for Communities and
Local Government, to deliver our Excellent Homes for All
project.
Excellent Homes for All is a multi-million pound project to
deliver purpose built housing for vulnerable people. Once the
project has received full approval from the Treasury, private
sector partners will be asked to tender for the development of over
200 new social housing apartments for vulnerable people.
In total the project will deliver five schemes of extra care
housing for older people and two schemes of supported accommodation
for vulnerable people.
An outline business case has recently been submitted to
government to gain further approval to procure the project. It is
hoped that the project will be tendered and the County will
advertise for expressions of interest from bidders.
The Excellent Homes For All project will enable hundreds of
vulnerable people to continue to live happily in their local
communities. It will provide homes for life with 24 hour support
and demonstrates the commitment of partners to develop great
services.
